Make Your Bath An Oasis
by Angela Kaciomber

The public bath houses of Rome served a multitude of
purposes. Men used the public bath as a place to hold
business meetings, social gatherings, and networking. Roman
baths was as luxurious and the spas of today. They were
equipped with a sauna and a gymnasium. They only thing
missing were women. Back then, women weren't allowed to use
the public bath houses.

Today the bath is a private affair. Nothing like a nice
warm bath to soak away the days tensions. Your bath can act
like an oasis away from the days hectic happenings.

The typical bath in a home consist of a tub shower
combination, toilet and sink. A larger more luxurious bath
can include a whirlpool, steam shower, his and her sinks,
vanities, sitting area, storage and perhaps skylights.

It doesn't take much to make your bathroom into your own
private spa. Why not add more fluffy pillows and towels?
Decorate your bath with flowers and candles. It's your
bathroom, why not dress it up?

Maybe your bath needs a little bit more done to it than
adding a few flowers.

Before you start gutting your current bath, you need to
consider two things, the size of the room and your budget.
Go out and price various fixtures and accessories.

A successful bath remodeling occurs with advance planning.
Planning ensures that your layout ideas and fixtures work
together within your bath square footage and budget.

Place your sink and shelves away from the tub. Don't put
anything that can be affected by water near your shower.
Allow for splashed and spilt water.

Remember with all that water comes moisture. Improper
ventilation promotes mildew and mold growth on those moist
surfaces. Use an exhaust fan built for your bath square
footage.

Keep your lifestyle and preferences in mind with your bath
remodeling project. Do you enjoy soaking in the tub? Don't
be afraid to lay in the showroom tub before purchasing.
They even manufacture whirlpool tubs the same size as a
standard tub. If you're a shower person, why not eliminate
the tub from your bath and splurge on a shower with
multiple body spray units.

Make sure you maintain bath safety. Keep anything
electronic away from your new tub and sink. Also, place
slip proof mats in and around your shower or tub.

Let your bath be a source of inspiration and relaxation.
Make it your private retreat from the world.
